Day 1 & 2: Livingstone
You will be met on arrival in Livingstone and transferred by road to The Zambezi Sun. Breakfast is included.
Zambezi Sun This 212 bedroom Resort Hotel is situated on the banks of The Zambezi with views towards the Falls which are a short walk away. The Zambezi Sun has the feel of a walled city, centuries old – despite the fact it was only opened in 2001. Rooms are airy overlooking onto a cool landscaped pool area, while the restaurant and bar are focused around the central pool. The two-storey en-suite rooms have private balconies that welcome the morning sun. Outside, the earth colors are soothing and soft. Inside, the airy rooms are alive with ethnic reds, blues and oranges. Amenities in the rooms include independent air-conditioning, satellite TV, fold-out couches, safe and telephone. The central reception area houses a family-friendly, high quality buffet restaurant, a pool bar and a lively alfresco grill and entertainment area.
Day 3 & 4: Chobe Safari Lodge, Botswana
Following breakfast, the guests will be transferred by road and boat from The Zambezi Sun in Livingstone to Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane (approximately 2 and a half hour transfer including the border crossing).
Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane only a few hundred meters from the entrance to Chobe National Park. The Park is famous for its large buffalo and elephant herds. In addition to a variety of predators, there is an abundance of wild game and bird life which decorate these beautiful waterways.The Lodge has spacious rooms and are overlooking the Chobe River, offering a beautiful view. Activities available include game drives in the Chobe National Park and a boat cruises on the Chobe River. The Chobe National Park is famous for having the highest density of elephants in the world (more than 40,000). Breakfast, Dinner included.
Day 5-10: Mobile Tented Safari, Moremi Game Reserve
Following breakfast, you will be transferred from the lodge to Kasane Airport for your onward flight to Xakanaxa in Moremi Game Reserve. Your guide will meet you upon arrival at the airstrip and take you to your private pre-erected camp. The following 6 days will be spent exploring the Moremi Game Reserve and surrounding areas on game drives, including a full day boat excursion in the Xakanaxa Lagoons. Your 6 nights will be split between two different locations within the reserve and the neighbouring Khwai community area. All meals and game activities are included.
The Mobile Tented safaris are exclusive (maximum 12 guests), comfortable and fully serviced providing the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation. Guests are accommodated in spacious (3m x 3m), walk-in wilderness safari tents with large windows, a private bathroom en-suite and a shaded veranda. The tents are furnished with two single beds, complete with comfortable mattresses, duvets and pillows (bed and bath linen are provided), a bedside table, a small carpet and a battery powered lamp. Guest tents are serviced daily. The en-suite bathroom includes a hot water bucket shower, traditional long-drop toilet and hand basin.
The central guest area is set out in the open wilderness, taking full advantage of the natural surroundings, and is furnished with a dining table and directors chairs. A skilled safari team – a professional guide, camp manager, safari cook and camp staff, will accompany the guests on safari. Safari vehicles are spacious and comfortable, ensuring guests enjoy the best possible game viewing experience.
Day 11 & 12: Okavango Delta
Following an early morning game drive, the guests will be transferred to the airstrip for their onward flight to Moremi Crossing Camp by light aircraft.
Moremi Crossing is located on an Island called Ntswi near the most southern part of Chief’s Island. As you fly over the Delta you can see the intricate twisting and turning of the waterways and the ever-changing colours where dry land meets water. The channels around Moremi Crossing offer far reaching vistas of the Moremi floodplain, grasslands and marginal woodlands interspersed with Mokolwane palm islands.
Moremi Crossings provides comfortable accommodation in 16 vintage en-suite safari tents, each with its own private wooden deck. The main area consists of a large open plan split level deck that offers spectacular views over the Boro River onto Chiefs Island. The dining room, bar and lounge are covered by a large thatched roof with the decked areas leading out to the pool. The whole camp is shaded by magnificent Llala palms, giant ebony, mangosteen, sausage and giant fig trees. The camp has 24hr solar powered electricity/ lightning. Moremi Crossing is a water based camp and therefore access to the camp from the airstrip is either by mokoro or moroboat. Activities on offer include mokoro excursions, guided walks and water levels permitting sunset cruises by motorboat. All these activities give the guests the chance to experience the Okavango Delta and its game from a very different slower and closer perspective.
Day 13: Depart
Following the morning activity, the guests will be transferred to Maun for their onward travel arrangements.
