Choosing Your Travel Style

If you would prefer to travel with a group you will have the same guide and group participants throughout your safari. If you prefer a private adventure, you can either hire a private vehicle for an overland safari or fly from camp to camp. Unless you specifically require a private vehicle at a fly-in lodge or camp, you will share your activities with other guests at your lodge or camp. However in some places, flying is the only access to remote parks or lodges. Driving itineraries are typically group departures, while flying itineraries are usually on a private basis. Botswana, Zambia and Namibia are typically fly-in destinations, while Tanzania and Kenya have more easily accessible parks so you can choose to go by land or by light aircraft or a combination. South Africa has regularly scheduled flights to get around the country and there are great parks and private reserves which are easily accessible by road from the major airports.
