Day 1: Cayo District, Belize


On arrival at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport, after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met and transferred to your lodge in the Cayo District. With its warm weather and its coastal sea breezes, Belize is the perfect destination for water activities such as diving, snorkeling and fishing, and land excursions such as cave tours and archaeological sites. From the moment you arrive, the Belizean people make you feel as welcome and comfortable like nowhere else. Belize culture and a interesting mix of eight diverse cultures made up of Maya, Mestizo, Creole, Garifuna, East Indian, Mennonite, Arab and Chinese.

Day 2: Belize - Horseback Tour of Xunantunich


After breakfast, you will be transferred to Xunantunich Archaeological Site. Enjoy a guided horseback riding tour through the site, visiting the most important monuments. The tours starts at the nearby Hanna's stables and finishes at the banks of the Mopan River. Xunantunich was a Mayan Ceremonial Center in the Late Classic Period and during its peak, this site sheltered over 200,00 people. The structure called El Castillo rises 130 feet above the plaza level making it one of the tallest buildings in Belize and offering an impressive panoramic view over the Mopan River valley. Xunantunich is also home to a large stucco frieze and a mask with larger ears next to a moon sign with a border of signs representing Venus. After a picnic lunch, transfer back to the lodge for time to take a dip in the pool or enjoy a massage (additional cost).

Day 3: Belize - Maya Cooking Class


Today a hands-on cooking class held in a traditional kitchen on the lodge grounds. Discuss the techniques and flavors used by the Mayans and enjoy the fruits of your labor. The cuisine and culinary traditions of the Ancient Mayans was diverse and extensive. The Mayans were hunters, fishers and used their own gardens to grow their food supply. Their most traditional dishes use a variety of ingredients. Their largest crop production was maize (corn). Cacao, another principal crop, was used in a sacred drink and also as an exchange unit in its grain form. The Spanish colonization brought change to the region. They introduced not only a new religion and lifestyle, but also new flavors and ingredients. The Spaniards also introduced alcohol, resulting today that Guatemala produces one of the world’s finest rums. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: Belize - Cave tubing and zipline tour


After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Caves Branch Outpost for your cave tubing and zip line adventure. Caves Branch Outpost is the Adventure Capital of Belize located 37 miles on the western Highway, at the Nohoch Che’en National Park. At Caves Branch, you'll be able to enjoy Cave Tubing, Zip-Ryder, Kayaking, Horseback Riding, and Rock Climbing & Rappelling. This is the perfect destination for adventure activities! Float along the lagoon illuminated by your headlamp into large underground chambers. You'll be able to see impressive Mayan sanctuaries used for sacrificial rituals. After the tour, you'll be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 5: Placencia, Belize - Helicopter Transfer


After breakfast, a helicopter will transfer you to your beach resort in Placencia. Belize is one of the most beautiful countries to fly over with turquoise waters, white sand beaches and its extensive reef network and there’s no greater air adventure than a helicopter flight! Placencia Peninsula, a thin strip of land that skirts the Belizean barrier reef, is the perfect place to enjoy days filled with water sports adventures and white-sand beach relaxation.

Day 6, 7 & 8: Placencia - Beach days


Enjoy wonderful days at leisure relaxing by the beach. Turtle Inn offers complimentary on-site bicycles, paddleboards and kayaks for guests use. There is also a complimentary evening shuttle to and from Placencia village if you’d like to try a local restaurant or visit a bar for drinks. Additional adventures such as fishing, diving and sunset cruises are available at an additional cost.

Day 9: Farewell!


After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Placencia airstrip for your local flight to Belize International Airport and your onward flight home.
