Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

Located between Serengeti and Lake Manyara in Northern Tanzania, the crater is a microcosm of East African scenery and wildlife. There are over 25,000 large animals within the crater itself. It is the best place to see black rhino and the magnificent black-maned lions while on safari. The crater itself covers 105 square miles, and is 12 miles wide. The area has been proclaimed an African World Heritage Site as well as one of the World's Seven Wonders.

This amazing vacation destination is in fact a sunken caldera, 10 by 12 miles in diameter, comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. Animals are found on game drives throughout the year due to the permanent availability of grass and water. This makes for perfect safari conditions with herds of wildebeest, zebra, elephant and hippo spread through out the crater in abundance. Ngorongoro Crater is an amazing African safari vacation experience.
