Cottar's Bush Villa

Cottar’s Bush Villa has a breathtaking view onto the savannah plains that carry the great annual wildebeest migration, and is set amidst a backdrop of the Olderikesi Hills. The villa borders the latest addition to the 7 Wonders of the World,The Maasai Mara National Reserve and, is also one kilometre from the Tanzania Serengeti game reserve. The camp is on the Olderikesi group ranch, adjoining the Maasai Mara National Reserve and the Serengeti National Park. The location is a critical dispersal area and wildlife corridor. The villa was designed by Calvin and Louise Cottar and built by hand using indigenous and eco-friendly materials. The villa is managed within the same area as Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp, and guests can enjoy the same levels of service and standard for which the camp is known. For those that want absolute privacy in the Maasai Mara, combined with dedicated and discrete staff, award-winning guides, and an abundance of wildlife, Cottar’s Bush Villa offers the only real private luxury home in the Maasai Mara.

Activities at Cottar's Bush Villa & Masai Mara

Guests can enjoy privately guided game drives, night game drives, bush walks, swimming and fishing. The South East Mara has most of the Mara‟s Rhino population, so Cottar‟s guests see them often. There are also many lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other migratory wildlife. Colobus monkeys can be seen in the hills behind the camp. The hills are great for hill walks, where Verreaux‟s eagles can be seen on cliff nesting sites, as well as rare Chandler‟s reedbuck in the moor-like hill tops.
