The Island and Activities

Hatchet Caye offers a unique vacation alternative to the hustle and bustle of Belize's larger island and mainland beach destinations. Hatchet Caye is a private island on the edge of the Gladden Spit and Silk Cayes Marine Reserve. Seventeen miles east of Placencia Village, Belize, this tranquil jewel is on the protected side of the Meso-American reef; the second longest in the world.

The island resort has everything you'll need and more to ensure a great time at Hatchet Caye whether it's for a day or a week. The Lionfish Bar & Grill is open daily for guests to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner with a magnificent view and the freshest seafood. In addition to diving and deep sea fishing, there is lots to do right here on the island. Whether you're looking to explore the underwater world by snorkeling off the pier (day or night) or you just want to relax by the pool or get a massage, we have you covered. Kayaks, Hobie cats (with free lessons), pedal boats, stand-up paddle boards, snorkeling (equipment included), swimming pool, and island football and volleyball are all included. Diving, fishing trips, guided tours and spa treatments are available at an additional cost.

The Cabanas

The 12 cabanas have easy beach-front access, en suite bathrooms, comfortable tropical decor, private deck, A/C, ceiling fans, safe boxes and hair dryers. And, for when you're not completely caught up in enjoying island life, Wi-Fi and DVD players are available in each room and Wii consoles can be borrowed from the office. Morning coffee and tea service is also available if desired. Roll-away beds can be provided upon request.
