Rooms at Hemingways Nairobi

Lofty, expansive rooms with vast, bright en-suite bathrooms are characteristic of our boutique hotel’s wonderful sense of space and use of natural light. Hemingways boast 45 high-ceiling rooms, two of which are penthouse style Presidential Suites and 43 Junior Suites culminating in vaulted beams. Muted colors and textured fabrics in ecru and taupe create an ambiance of contemporary-chic while subtle touches of brass, mahogany and leather bear reference to the classic elegance of vintage East African safaris. Your attentive butler is on hand to rustle up a treat from the pantry and tend to the artisan bouquets of fresh roses. Beyond the balustrade of your private balcony is a view of The Green Hills of Africa, as described in Hemingway’s novel.

Each room features a spacious en-suite bathroom lined with hand cut Italian marble, walk-in wardrobe, double vanity, separate toilet, bath and shower, complimentary wired and Wi-Fi internet access, pop-up 40" LED television, air conditioning and ceiling fan, personalized bar, electronic safe with charging socket and space for 17” laptop, hairdryer and bathrobes & slippers, hypoallergenic pillows and the finest Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels.

Dining at Hemingways Nairobi

With aspirations of being the first Michelin-starred venue in Nairobi, Hemingways is bringing new vigor to the dining scene in Kenya. The menus are contemporary European in style, characterized by a focus on retro-classics with an ultra-modern twist.

The Brasserie serves one of the best steaks in Kenya — specially fed beef grilled on an imported charcoal oven called a Josper; the restaurant pioneers cooking technology never before used in Kenya — “a la plancha” and sous-vide techniques; and the hotel has its own patisserie decorated with hand-crafted cakes and Viennoisseries.

Hemingways Nairobi Spa

In the serenity of the onsite spa, beauticians will perform the sacred rituals and secret arts of cleansing and re invigoration. Their potions, oils and therapies will enthrall your senses, enchant your body and relax your mind after a long flight. Spa treatments include facials, manicures, pedicures, full body massages and more.

Activities at Hemingways Niarobi

Once a frontier for pioneer settlers and ever the home of nomadic herdsmen, this landscape runs deep with adventure. So before you fly off to the Masai Mara or the Indian Ocean’s ivory sands, spare a few rolls of film for Nairobi’s sights and delights. Within minutes of our manicured lawns is the only National Park in the world located right on the edge of a city.

Out of the soft curve of hissing savannah grasses surge the skyscrapers of Nairobi’s city scape - it’s an unusual backdrop to your game drive. Stop for coffee and colonial heritage in sepia photographs at the Karen Blixen Museum. Equally close by you’ll find the Giraffe Center and its lofty denizens, always eager to extend their jig-saw patterned necks in welcome to new visitors. Nearby, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust hand-rears orphaned elephants and rhinos; meet the babies suckling from huge bottles and playing in bright red Kenyan soil.
