The Hotel

The hotel grounds are located on an estate that was purchased by Moses and Blanca Rosa Rivera in 1926 to serve as the family’s coffee plantation. In 1970, Arturo Rivera inherited the land of his ancestors and, with his wife SusanTyng, built what is now Hotel Atitlán. The first wing witch consisted of the lobby, 14 rooms, and the restaurant and bar where finished in December 1971. The second wing, with 29 rooms, was added in 1974, and the final wing with 22 rooms was completed in 1992. Today, there are 60 rooms, each with their own private balcony with outstanding views and each individually decorated.
