The Lodge

Kiba point is Nomad's private camp in the heart of the Selous; a totally exclusive retreat in one of the most game-rich areas of Tanzania. Rather adventuring with family or friends, a safari experience doesn't get much better than this. Kiba Point sits just a mile downstream from the main camp, Sand Rivers, but operates completely in its own private world. A dedicated staff, private guide, vehicle, lounging and dining area, large swimming pool with lounging deck, and camp fire pit are there to provide the utmost enjoyment in a completely private setting.

The Rooms

This exclusive use safari lodge is set back from the rivers edge, and boasts just four impressively large and open-fronted thatched roof rooms with en suite flush facilities, indoor and outdoor showers and hot and cold water as and when you want. Each room has well appointed furniture, private viewing deck, comfortable bed and linens and its own plunge pool set into the edge of the deck where you can also sink into the cool waters in the afternoon heat.

The Activities

As an exclusive use camp with private guide and vehicle, the days activities are all about what you would like to explore. Morning and evening game drives are a great way of covering a large landscape and seeking out as mush of the amazing wildlife as possible. Boat trips on the river are a great opportunity to sit back and relax while taking in the sites and sounds of the Africa bush as well as keeping an eye out for the animals that come to the edge for a drink. A walking safari is a unique way to get a feel for Africa under foot and slow down and notice the grasses, bushes and insects that help create this wonderful world. Crossing paths with the larger wildlife is also a distinct, and amazing, possibility for a once in a lifetime up close and personal encounter.

This is a great lodge to take advantage of the wilderness around you. Enjoy a bush breakfast on the sand bank in Stigler's Gorge watching elusive monkey-hunting crowned eagles, and listening to shrill cires of Hyraxes as you dangle a hook in the water or lunch in the deep shade of palm trees and let the wildlife come to you.
