Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge is situated on the western boundary in the first private concession within Africa’s oldest proclaimed Game Reserve Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park, Northern KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Set in a 96 000 hectare park Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge enables guests to enjoy 4 star luxury at a private lodge for the first time within the park, offering spectacular scenery and excellent safari opportunities within the heart of Big 5 territory.

Rooms at Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge

Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge accommodates a maximum of 36 guests in 4 different room types, all of which are carefully positioned high up on a ridge to take full advantage of the spectacular views over the hills and valleys of Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park while at the same time giving each room maximum privacy.

There are eight Luxury Bush Villas comprising twin/double bedroom with en suite wash room, luxurious shower, private wooden deck, mini bar, fireplace, overhead fan & air-conditioning. Four Safari Rooms feature twin/double en-suite showers & private deck. Two Honeymoon Villas with twin/double bedroom en-suite wash room, luxurious indoor/outdoor shower, private wooden deck, mini bar, fireplace, overhead fan & air-conditioning and private plunge pool. Rhino Rodge also accommodates families in two Safari Family Rooms with twin/double beds arranged in pairs leading off a common lobby making it not only ideal for families but also for couples travelling together. Each room has a private en-suite shower & private deck.

Rhino Safari Lodge Activities

Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge offers both early morning and afternoon/evening game drives. Game drive safaris are conducted in specially adapted open game viewing vehicles, with professional guides (maximum 9 people per vehicle). To preserve the wilderness no off-road driving is practiced. In addition to driving in the private concession within the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park the lodge also has unlimited access to the greater Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park where you have the opportunity to spot the Big 5. Mpembeni community visits offer an amazing opportunity to interact first hand with the locals in the area. Cultural tours provide an interesting and direct way for visitors to learn about the lives and daily experiences of the local community. Guests will visit one of the local villages with the assistance of an interpreter. Dependent upon availability a meeting/consultation with the Inyanga (Traditional Healer) or the Sangoma (fortune teller) will provide the highlight of the trip.At additional charge
