Ngorongoro Farm House
The Farm House
This exclusive lodge facing the Oldeani Volcano, only 5 kilometers from the Ngorongoro Lolduare gate, was built to offer guest an original experience reminiscent of the atmosphere of the old days.
The 500 acre working farm on the slopes of the crater features a 6 acre organic vegetable garden which not only supplies the lodge, but many other lodges and our mobile camp operations throughout the northern Tanzania. Enjoy fresh roasted coffee from the on-site 15 acre coffee plantation. The farm also has home grown pigs, free range chickens, ducks, rabbit, lamb and milk cows. These fresh foods are combined with the fish imported from the coast enabling us to serve up abundant, fresh, organic cuisine.
The Cottages
Ngorongoro Farm House was inaugurated on February 20th 2003, and offers 52 cottage rooms of which 49 are standard and 3 suites. Each cottage features ample space inside, built in the style of an old colonial farm and rustically decorated with local materials and full of details of good taste, with the purpose of offering our guests an imaginary journey to the life of the days gone.
The Activities
A wonderful stop-off during a safari on the north circuit of Tanzania and a privileged place from which you can visit the crater or enjoy activities such a walking safaris to the volcano, excursions to Lake Eyasi on the Rift Valley still inhabited by the Hadzabe tribe, birding at the lodge and tours of the coffee farm.
