Wasa Lodge
The Lodge
Wasa Lodge is located in the heart of Kasanka National Park over looking the lake with great proximity to the bat forest. The lodge’s main dining area boasts beautiful views complemented by a cozy bar and fireplace to huddle around in the evenings to share your days adventure and enjoy a cocktail.
The Chalets
Wasa lodge has a total of 7 chalets – 4 large chalets and 3 smaller rondavels all of which are set in the treeline or overlooking over the lake. The larger chalets all feature double and single beds in the room, a private veranda and a simple shower, basin and flush toilet in an en-suite bathroom. The smaller chalets have double or twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with flush toilets and simple bucket showers. Between the chalets are tree-top platforms which makes for a stunning sunrise spot listening to the hippo, puku and fish eagles
The Activities
asa Lodge offers a wide array of activities. Rise early and head out to the lake to enjoy the sunrise before heading out on a game drive to Pontoon to watch the mist lift from over the marshlands as the sitatunga graze across the swamp, discover the bat forest by bike, head out with a guide for a feel for Africa under foot on a walking safari, witness the bat migration as the sun fades from the sky, discover the wonderful culture in the area by taking part in Kasanka’s Trust programs or explore the are by canoe.
Other activities available at Kasanka are the Kasanka cycle challenge, visits to the Livingston Memorial, day trips to Lavushi Manda National ark, exploring the Nsalu cave paintings, morning and evening game drives and birding.
