Day 1: Cayo District, Belize

On arrival at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (Belize City) clear customs and immigration and you will be met and transferred to the Cayo District and Chaa Creek.

With its warm weather and its coastal sea breezes, Belize is the perfect destination for water activities such as diving, snorkeling and fishing, and land excursions such as cave tours and archeological sites. From the moment you arrive, the Belizean people make you feel as welcome and comfortable like nowhere else. Belize culture and a interesting mix of eight diverse cultures made up of Maya, Mestizo, Creole, Garifuna, East Indian, Mennonite, Arab and Chinese.

Day 2: Belize City - Guided Xunantunich Ruins Tour

After breakfast meet your guide and transfer to Xunantunich Archaeological Site. Enjoy a guided tour through the site visiting the most important monuments. Xunantunich was a Mayan Ceremonial Center in the Late Classic Period and during its peak, this site sheltered over 200,00 people. The structure called El Castillo rises 130 feet above the plaza level making it one of the tallest buildings in Belize and offering an impressive panoramic view over the Mopan River valley. Xunantunich is also home to a large stucco frieze and a mask with larger ears next to a moon sign with a border of signs representing Venus.

After lunch in San Ignacio at a local restaurant (on your own account), you will be transferred back to Chaa Creek to relax by the pool or enjoy the on-site activities. Overnight at Chaa Creek.

Day 3: Belize City - Cave Tubing and Zipline Tour

After breakfast you will be transferred to Jaguar Paw for an exciting day of adventure activities including cave tubing and ziplining. Jaguar Paw is located in the Western part of Belize along the Cave’s Branch River and was the first place in the country to offer cave tubing. Hop into an inner tube and float into the mouth of a mysterious limestone cave for an unforgettable experience, head lamps are a must! Later, fly through the trees of the Mountain Pine Ridge area on a network of zipline cables. As you speed through the air, keep your eyes out for birds and wildlife around you! After the tour, you will be transferred back to Chaa Creek for overnight.

Day 4: Belize City - Canoe, Hiking or Butterfly Tour

Part of the magic of Chaa Creek is its variety of on-site activities. Spend the day exploring the Blue Morpho Butterfly Exhibit (kids will love to watch these massive bright blue creatures land delicately on their bodies), canoe the Macal River, visit the Woodshop, explore the Maya organic farm or the Natural History Center or simply enjoy the infinity pool and gardens.

Day 5: Placencia, Belize

After breakfast, depart Chaa Creek for a road transfer along the scenic Hummingbird Highway through the Maya Mountains to the narrow wedge of land along the Caribbean known as the Placencia Peninsula. Home to some of Belize’s most beautiful white sand beaches and some of the best creole cuisine, Placencia is also a hub for water and land activities. On arrival in Placencia, transfer by boat to Hatchet Caye, a private island resort with just 12 cabanas, a bar and grill and dive shop. With nearly a mile of coastline and a limited number of guests, Hatchet Caye is one of Belize’s most exclusive island experiences.

Days 6, 7 & 8: Placencia - Hatchet Caye Activities

Days at leisure swimming, kayaking, snorkeling and relaxing on the beach. Hatchet Caye offers on-site paddle boards, kayaks, pedal boats, Hobie Cats (with complimentary lessons!), snorkeling gear, plus a volleyball court and soccer field, a swimming pool, dive shop and spa (spa services and diving available at an additional cost). This private island is yours to explore and enjoy! Make the most of the activities or simply sit and relax on the beach - the choice is yours, making Hatchet Caye the perfect tropical family vacation spot.

Day 9: Farewell!

After breakfast and your last sunrise in paradise, a boat will transfer you to Placencia for your local flight to Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport for onward flight home.
