It’s an early start today as you enjoy a last breakfast before being transferred to the airstrip in time for your scheduled flight north to Laikipa (via Nairobi), which is considered the gateway to Kenya’s wild northern frontier country. You will arrive at Borana Lodge in time for lunch. The Borana Conservancy is a 35,000-acre ranch that is located in Kenya’s Northern Frontier, the Laikipia district. The non-profit conservation organization is dedicated to the sustainable conservation of critical habitat and wildlife. All profits are reinvested in the Conservancy. With the fence removed, the Lewa-Borana landscape has ensured creation of a vast private sanctuary and a connecting ecosystem which is beneficial for biological rhino management and other animal species. After a late lunch there is just enough time to escape the heat in the lodge’s pool before your evening game drive. As the sun begins to set, return to the lodge in time to watch sun set before washing off the dust followed by yet another mouth-watering meal and settling in for the night.
