After breakfast bid farewell to Vira Vira and your vehicle will transfer you to the border at San Martin de los Andes where you will be met by your Argentina guide and vehicle and continue by road to Villa La Angostura.

Just as Nahuel Huapi National Park is dominated by an immense lake, the Lanin National Park is dominated by an immense volcano. This National Park (1508 sq miles) gets its name from the imposing Lanin Volcano, situated at the border with Chile. The volcano soars to 12,474 feet, far above the height of the surrounding peaks. We continue on the scenic “Road of the Seven Lakes” passing by the lakes and through forests and finally approach Villa La Angostura from the Northern shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi.

Villa La Angostura is a small charming village, located on banks of the Nahuel Huapi Lake, ideal for local people and for those who want to avoid crowds. With the lake on its doorstep and intimate ski resorts above, Villa La Angostura is a year-round destination in Argentina’s Lakes District.

On day 8 eet your guide for a full day excursion paddling and hiking in this picturesque landscape. Paddle across the Nahuel Huapi Lake and then hike up to a hut located near the summit of Dormilón peak. This lookout provides expansive views of the glaciated Mount Tronador and a unique perspective of the largest lake in the Argentine Lakes District. Relax on the sandy beach and take a dip in the refreshing lake while enjoying drinks and hearty snacks to refuel before paddling back. The evening is yours to relax at Las Balsas and soak in the lakeside setting. Dinner on your own – we recommend the gourmet restaurant on-site at Hosteria Las Balsas.
