After breakfast, depart Chaa Creek for a road transfer along the scenic Hummingbird Highway through the Maya Mountains to the narrow wedge of land along the Caribbean known as the Placencia Peninsula. Home to some of Belize’s most beautiful white sand beaches and some of the best creole cuisine, Placencia is also a hub for water and land activities. On arrival in Placencia, transfer by boat to Hatchet Caye, a private island resort with just 12 cabanas, a bar and grill and dive shop. With nearly a mile of coastline and a limited number of guests, Hatchet Caye is one of Belize’s most exclusive island experiences.
