Today, after breakfast, you will return to the Santiago Airport and fly to Puerto Natales (December – February) or Punte Arenas. On arrival you will be transferred by road to Torres de Paine National Park and your Patagonia lodge. Over the next three days you may venuture out on the daily excursions, stay in and relax in the indoor/outdoor sauna and spa or both! Excursions include biking, hiking, climbing, horseback rides, visits to the lake and lack sand beach, and of course always keeping a look out for the local wildlife.
Patagonia offers a kaleidoscopic mix of remote and untamed landscapes that will thrill the senses with their unrivaled beauty. The region is vast, covering 240 000 square kilometers, and over half of this destination is a protected wilderness area. The south of Patagonia is home to the iconic Parque Nacional Torres del Paine. Chile’s most renowned national park features the rugged horn-shaped peaks of the Cuernos del Paine and pristine sand-colored lowlands where gauchos practice age-old cattle herding traditions. In the north, massive ice fields flank brilliant blue glaciers whilst fjords and deep channels usher penguins to their waters. You will also find a rich entanglement of rainforest and mountain ranges that stretch across the horizon.
Sadly day 9 is time to depart. Enjoy your last breakfast, and take in the the snow capped mountains of Patagonia once more before transferring to either Natales or Punta Arenas airport for your flight to Santiago and then home or onward to your next adventure.
