After breakfast meet your driver for your day trip to Iximche. This relatively overlooked Pre-Columbian Maya site in the Western Highlands of Guatemala is an easy day trip from Antigua. It is not the major archaeological site, but was founded by the Kaqchikel Maya in 1470 after a prolonged conflict with the Kiche. When learning about Maya in Guatemala, this site is essential to the story. It was also the capital of the Late Pre-classic Kaqchikel kingdom from 1470 until its abandonment in 1524 with the Spaniards arrival.

After lunch near the site, return to Antigua for the late afternoon and dinner at leisure.

On day 5 your driver will meet you at your hotel after breakfast for the full day transfer to Honduras (approx. 7 hours with lunch en route on your own account). The quaint town of Copan Ruinas is complete with cobblestone streets, white adobe buildings and red tile roofs. The village is a relaxed and peaceful place that will charm you – it can be surprising that this small town is home to one of the most significant, and well maintained, Maya sites in Central America. The late afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the historic Hacienda San Lucas.
