In addition to primates, Kibale Forest is home to a total of 70 mammal species, including bushbuck, sitatunga, buffalo, leopard and a small number of forest elephants. The area is also home to over 375 species of birds and an incredible 250 species of butterfly.
Kibale adjoins Queen Elizabeth National Park to the south to create a 180 kmlong corridor for wildlife between Ishasha, the remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Sebitoli in the north of Kibale National Park.
